Seeking traders of quality food and drink and related products for our World and Medieval Markets to be held as part of the Bury St Edmunds Food and Drink Festival on Sunday 26 and Monday 27 August 2012. We are seeking quality hot and cold foods and drinks including cheeses, meats, bakery products, olives and cooked speciality foods. We have been asked to give this a mention, so here it is. This is the first food and drink festival of its kind to be held at Henham Park Nr Southwold, in the lovely setting of the historic walled garden. Over the two days of the Festival, the aim is to celebrate and publicise the amazing variety of food and drink available in East Anglia. Local, regional and national firms will exhibit and there will be a special children’s activity area. Cookery demonstrations and talks will be held throughout both days and those purchasing food will be able to store their shopping in a chilled store. ...wherever I go I see Suffolk produce. Belly of Blythburgh pork is being roasted in the local pub, Adnams and Aspalls are everywhere. The Sunday market on Colombia Rd is selling roast turkey rolls wirth stuffing and cranberry - organic of course - and I think finally we might be seeing the end of those revolting over-iced cupcakes in favour of a nice bit of crumpet. It should be served on old Denbyware so if you've got anything like this at home - it's coming back!

When you walk into the shop and cafe expect a cheerful hello and the aroma of delicious things.  Lord Iveagh - of the Guinness family - has a whole section dedicated to Guinness inspired products and a room full of sweets including farm - produced fudge, shelves are filled as you might expect to see in Harrods and there's a cafe|restaurant with rather loud upbeat music and well sourced food.  On this occasion only time for the cheese scone and a capppuccino - both very good - but please don't microwave my scone.
